Well, regardless of what you may have found - or not found, i guess - in this thread, this is a season FOUR (and season five) song, so you just might have better luck searching for it in there…

Safe from Harm [Peter Rauhofer Mix]

I went over this episode yesterday to get rid of another one of those peeves and surprised myself, discovering quite a few things:

• The first song, playing in the diner when Brian, Horvath & Deb talk, is Well Well Well by Le Tigre.
  
  
• The second one, playing in the bar when Brian confronts Rikert, is the [Jimmy LaMort Mix] (also known as the James Cavaluzzo Remix) of Carole Pope's re-recording of All Touch - another old classic by Rough Trade.
  
  
• And, finally, what i wanted to get clear in the first place:
  The so called [Drugmix] of "Hungry" is a mislabel, exactly like that "True Faith" -thing. And while, this time, i couldn't find even any previous reliable discussion on the matter (seriously, try Googling kosheen hungry drugmix), i did go over to check out Kosheen's official releases and there's no record of anything called even remotely that.
  Just by having a listen, it's obvious the version used on the show is the [Satoshi Tomiie Vocal Remix], which, again, is of course what has already circulated here, only in some weird length edit i couldn't identify.

I don't think so, seeing as how, on the episode, it really is more or less a "snip the ends off" fitting of the ten-minute track.

No, my best guess would be that, unless it's some completely unauthorized edit, the "Drugmix" is originally off some random third party compilation, where, i suppose, it might have been credited as such. Or wasn't, but was instead - in a much more likely scenario - taken and, for some reason, possibly purposely, (mis)labeled that way by someone who then (re-)uploaded it on the web - maybe even with the added QaF association already.

With or without the added tag, the "Drugmix" will have attracted, or eventually reached, the ears of some people who recognize it as the mix indeed used in the show, who (also) aren't familiar with the [Satoshi Tomiie Vocal Remix]. The word spreads and the often repeated becomes the accepted truth.

Which is what i meant when i wrote this is "exactly like that "True Faith" -thing."
