Deep Grief
It would be so, so nice if all people were pulling their weight and doing the least bit of initial digging across these boards themselves, instead of making (however unintentionally) others work extra, simply because they can. And, if this could actually go without saying, and not have to be revisited time after time after time. And it isn't "just me" either, that much I'm sure of, it's just that I felt like ranting…
I can understand that some might find their way here feeling they've already searched all over the place and for ages, and it seems so easy to finally just post a request (or a couple dozen…
I'm not saying that everyone's expected to wade through the whole threads in one sitting, or at all: I know even I'm struggling a bit with the speed of my web connection, the capacity of my processor and the amount of free time I have these days, and can still consider myself lucky in comparison. But only going back a page, if that, before posting and/or only cruising for links without reading all the other information given out, is only making the thread even longer for the ones who come after and wasting someone else's time already spent and work already done.
The above is nowhere more important than in the first two threads, I think, simply to help cut the truly excess posting from the already heavier traffic they seem to get nevertheless, compared to the other three. Not to mention this thread (as well as seasons 4 & 5) having most of its music in Misiatek's still very active, very much functional sharing folder, as tick pointed out. Just because it hasn't been as relentlessly waved around at people's faces (every three to five posts or so) as it was at one point, doesn't mean it isn't there…
And, paraphrasing myself from the S-4 thread: The sharing sites work perfectly for most of us, so if you have gone back, tried an active link - any otherwise active link, not just the folders and not links that have clearly expired - and have found the site uncooperative, let us know as much. As should be apparent from this post, so few people actually do anymore, that it can't be assumed. It is assumed, and expected, however, that people know what they're asking for. As a rule of thumb: If it isn't on the lists, we don't know what it is, and therefore it's highly unlikely that anyone has it. Even some of the known ones are still, and will probably remain unavailable. Which people won't know, unless they do some digging…
*deep sigh*
I seriously hope I'm not scaring away new faces with this (Hang in there, MassMurder!
